Join us for a live podcast session where we explore one of the key challenges of our time: the state of democracy and its relationship to ongoing social transformations. Together, we will reflect on how grassroots initiatives step in to support migrants where the state institutions and market forces fall short, and how these efforts contribute to a more democratic and inclusive society amid increasing social polarization.

Bringing together voices from active grassroots organizations and academia, this conversation offers insights into everyday practices, lived experiences, and visions of more democratic and inclusive future societies.

The audience is also invited to contribute during a live question-and-answer session after the podcast conversation.

With:

  • Ani Popova (Open Embassy, Amsterdam)
  • Leonie van Bruggen (Villa Vrede, Utrecht)
