DESCRIPTION:Welkom bij deze serie groepsbijeenkomsten waarin ouderen en jongeren met elkaar in gesprek gaan rond het thema verbondenheid. Misschien zou je ook kunnen zeggen: eenheid in verscheidenheid. (dat verwijst dan naar non-dualiteit). \nIn een tijd waarin de verschillende generaties elkaar soms minder vanzelfsprekend ontmoeten\, willen we hier ruimte scheppen voor echte ontmoeting\, uitwisseling en inspiratie. Jong en oud brengen elk hun eigen ervaringen\, vragen en inzichten mee. \nWe laten ons in deze bijeenkomsten leiden door uitspraken uit verschillende wijsheidstradities: uit religies en levensbeschouwingen tot filosofieën van over de hele wereld. Deze woorden nodigen ons uit om stil te staan bij wat het betekent om met elkaar verbonden te zijn — als mensen\, als generaties\, als deel van een groter geheel. Met elkaar vormen we zo een bron van gedeelde wijsheid. \nElke bijeenkomst starten we met een korte reflectie op een citaat.  Daarna gaan we in gesprek\, in openheid en met respect voor ieders verhaal. \nWe hopen dat dit een plek mag zijn waar nieuwe verbindingen ontstaan\, en waar we samen ontdekken hoe oude woorden nieuwe betekenis kunnen krijgen — in het leven van vandaag. \nGratis toegankelijk. DESCRIPTION:Symposium: De kracht van meertaligheid in het basisonderwijs \nKansenongelijkheid is een groeiend vraagstuk in het basisonderwijs. Taal speelt daarin een belangrijke rol. De thuistaal van kinderen kan juist een waardevolle steun zijn bij het leren van Nederlands. De Onderwijsraad adviseert daarom om meertaligheid actiever in te zetten op school. Tijdens dit symposium van HUB Utrecht in de Bibliotheek Neude gaan ouders\, leraren en experts met elkaar in gesprek over hoe meertaligheid kansen kan vergroten\, welke hulpmiddelen daarbij helpen en welke valkuilen we beter kunnen vermijden. \nWo 15 oktober\nBibliotheek Neude (het Huis van Actief Burgerschap)\n19:30 – 21:00 uur\, met borrel\ngratis \nMeld je hier aan!

DESCRIPTION:Nice Here with Floortje\n\n\n\nBuilding a caring city: amplifying voices of homeless people and other citizens\n\n\n\nHow do we create cities that are more inclusive? As a citymaker\, Floortje works at the intersection of policy and practice\, greening public spaces with neighbors\, hosting community dinners\, and initiating small-scale experiments that make neighborhoods more livable.\n\n\n\nIn this session\, she will not only share her journey as a citymaker\, but also highlight her recent book ‘Here I Am at Home’\, created in a participatory process together with six people experiencing homelessness. The book tells stories that go beyond the stigma\, stories about talents\, dreams\, and resilience\, as well as the multiple and often complex reasons why someone can become homeless.\n\n\n\nHomelessness has become an increasingly pressing topic in Dutch cities\, including Utrecht\, where shelters are under pressure and the number of people without stable housing has grown in recent years.  By placing these alternative stories at the center\, Floortje and the six storytellers challenge us to reflect on what homelessness really means\, and how easily it could become a reality for any of us when a series of unfortunate events—such as losing a job\, conflict within the family\, or falling ill—collides with the ongoing housing crisis.\n\n\n\nHow do we break through the stigma surrounding it? And in what ways can the voices of vulnerable city dwellers transform our understanding of urban life?
